PATH & Counseling

PATHPost-Abortion Teaching and Healing.

Are you struggling to control your anger, fear, anxiety, or grief?

Is depression holding you down?

Does guilt or shame hang over you like a dark cloud?

Are relationships difficult?

Is an addiction controlling your life?

Do you feel empty and hopeless?

Are you turning into a bitter person with numerous health concerns?

An abortion could be the cause of these and other problems.

Many women who have had an abortion suffer and these negative physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects can last for weeks, years, and even decades. As time goes by, the pain is not healed, but multiplied. The negative impacts of abortion are buried deeper and deeper, and layers of hurt surround the woman.

It may seem like the only side effects are spiritual or emotional. However, continued negative emotions can and do cause negative physical realities. A short list of side effects would include, but is certainly not limited to:

  • shame
  • guilt
  • depression
  • suicidal thoughts or tendencies
  • addictions
  • bitterness
  • emptiness
  • self-esteem problems
  • regret
  • inability to forgive self or others
  • sleeping disorders
  • allergies
  • fibromyalgia
  • chronic fatigue syndrome
  • menstrual disorders
  • miscarriage
  • infertility
  • relationship problems
  • promiscuity
  • obsessive-compulsive tendencies
  • bi-polar tendencies
  • anger and rage
  • eating disorders
  • despair or hopelessness
  • hatred of men
  • inability to mother children appropriately

Frequently, women who have an abortion have been victims of sexual abuse, rape, or incest.

If you have suffered from any or all of these things, you will agree that you are in a type of bondage or captivity. There is hope. The Bible says that Jesus came to set the captives free. Through the application of the principles found in God’s word, we have found that freedom to be complete. We have seen and experienced God’s healing power that sets women free from ALL negative emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of abortion, as well as other negative experiences in our lives.

PATHway Counseling offers a Bible study in a support group or one-on-one setting, meeting about two hours each week for approximately 10 weeks. The Bible study material covers the premise that complete healing is through Jesus Christ and then goes through the various emotions that women experience as a result of abortion or other traumatic experiences. As each area is explored, with its resulting emotional, spiritual, and physical problems, the participant is directed to Biblical principles and Biblical promises that lead to release and victory.

Though PATHway is based on Biblical principles, we do not discriminate against any faith or religious background, and accept those of all beliefs. All services are free and confidential.

PATHway Counseling is Post Abortion Teaching and Healing in the way that works, applying Biblical principles to lives willing to change and be released from the negative aspects of abortion. The lay counselors are women who have facilitated many women in their emotional and physical healing process, with a combined total of 25 years experience, and have walked in the post-abortion woman’s shoes and know her pain and also the joy of her release.

As indicated in the name PATH, our focus is on the post abortion woman, to assist her in receiving true and complete healing and freedom from her past. Our lay counselors, however, have experience in various areas of counseling, including pregnancy, relationships, marriage, abstinence, sexual integrity, abortion, and abortion alternatives. A right relationship with the Heavenly Father, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and the influence of the Holy Spirit, will be encouraged and promoted. When applied, these things allow the more abundant life, the health, healing, and prosperity promised in the Bible, and make it possible to have more fruitful, prosperous relationships, thus benefiting the entire community.

This God - His Way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.

- II Samuel 22:31
